Access to Coligny Beach Park on Hilton Head Island will be restricted Wednesday and Thursday as the town’s beach renourishment continues.

Access to the beach will remain open, but about 1,000 feet of the beach will be restricted as crews pump sand from the ocean floor onto the island.

The $20.7 million Town of Hilton Head project restores sand to eroded beaches. It occurs on the island every eight to 10 years.

Renourishment will continue on South and North Forest beaches for about a month.
