A single-vehicle wreck ended in an emergency medical airlift around 11 a.m. Sunday on U.S. 278 near the new Bluffton Parkway flyover.
An adult male, the sole occupant of the SUV, was flown to Savannah Memorial Hospital after the accident, according to Capt. Bob Bromage of Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. The man’s condition was not available Sunday afternoon.
Westbound traffic was slow and limited to one lane while the Sheriff’s Office investigated the crash, according to Bluffton Township Fire District spokesman Randy Hunter.
All lanes are now open.
