Amber alert issued for abducted girl

The State Law Enforcement Division has issued an Amber Alert for a 12-year-old North Carolina girl who may be traveling with a 38-year-old registered sex offender.

They were believed to be traveling south on U.S. 17 on Monday night in a red 1998 Chrysler Sebring with black top. Signs were up over I-26 in the Charleston area asking motorists to keep an eye out for the car, which has a N.C. license tag of AKT-6534.
