Compassion and generosity are two attributes that our community has always possessed in great abundance.
Once again, the community has not disappointed. It has stepped up for those in need and supported them in every way possible. When the local media recently highlighted the deplorable animal hoarding discovered in Savannah, our community immediately volunteered to help, and we are so grateful for the outpouring of kindness and charity that we have experienced.
Brooke's Haven Animal Rescue was able to take in 16 of the wonderful, four-legged souls found in the home that was eventually condemned. While this was initially a tremendous challenge for our small nonprofit, we were quickly joined in our efforts by volunteers willing to bathe the dogs and photograph their progress. The next day volunteers arrived to provide monetary assistance and supplies.
These wonderful supporters were soon followed by many willing to socialize the traumatized canines and many more looking to provide them with forever homes.
We are so thankful for each and every one of you for your outpouring of kindness. When the dogs first arrived at our shelter, they were overwhelmed, shy and terrified. Each day we see improvements and acts of courage, such as venturing out to play with a toy.
Thanks to all for your commitment to those without a voice.
Please feel free to visit, call or Facebook us for updates and reports on the progress of these wonderful creatures. We always welcome your support and involvement. Thanks so much for caring.
