Hilton Head Hospital will conduct free vascular screenings from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 15 at the main hospital at 25 Hospital Center Blvd. Health histories will be taken and screening tests to determine risk for and/or to detect the presence of vascular disease -- specifically stroke, abdominal aortic aneurysms, peripheral vascular disease and carotid artery disease. Dr. David Kastl, a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon, will oversee the screenings. The screening is recommended for persons 55 or older with a history of high blood pressure, smoking, or a family history of aneurysms. Appointments are required.
