The YMCA of Beaufort County is offering free nutritious meals to more than 200 children in Port Royal this summer, thanks to a $5,000 grant from YMCA of the USA and Walmart to feed more children through the national Summer Food Service Program. The program, run by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, provides free meals to children ages 18 and younger while school is out of session. The YMCA's summer food program takes place Monday through Friday throughout the summer months. The program serves lunches to all youth age 18 and younger starting at 11 a.m. All youth are welcome, you do not have to be a YMCA member or summer camp participant to participate.
