Live Oak Christian Church will hold a donation drive from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Bluffton High School parking lot. Church members will be collecting household items for Joplin, Mo., families who were affected by the May 22 tornado. The church will be collecting bedding and linens, such as pillows, blankets and towels; toiletries, such as toilet paper, soaps, denture products and sunscreen; and miscellaneous items, such as bottled water, laundry detergent, tarps and duct tape. Financial donations also will be accepted. Make all checks payable to Live Oak Christian Church with "storm fund" written in the memo line. Money raised will be distributed to organizations providing aid in Joplin. A Live Oak team will travel to Joplin in the next two weeks to deliver all donations to partner organizations that are already working in the area.
