The Yemassee Revitalization Corporation will host the inaugural Yemassee Lowcountry Cook-Off, sponsored by LeCreuset, from 1 to 4 p.m. May 14 at the Yemassee Ball Field, S.C. 68 in Yemassee. The Lowcountry Cook-Off is a competition among Lowcountry chefs -- amateurs and pros -- who will prepare a dish or meal of their choosing in order to vie for the title of Yemassee Cook-Off Champion. The winner will be determined by public voting.
Chefs interested in competing can find registration information at www.yemassee-sc.org. Entry is free. The deadline to enter is May 7.
Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the door. Tickets include 10 samples. Additional tickets will be sold at the event. Beer, wine and sodas will be available. All proceeds will benefit the Yemassee Revitalization Corporation.
