The Center for Hyperbarics and Wound Healing at Coastal Carolina Hospital is accepting appointments for free diabetic foot screenings to take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the hospital, 1000 Medical Center Drive, Hardeeville. The foot screening will evaluate sensory, circulatory and structural changes in the feet.
Nearly 30 percent of the people with diabetes who are 40 years or older have impaired sensation in their feet. Diabetes can cause nerve damage and hardening of the blood vessels in your feet.
