An anonymous caller warned Hilton Head Island Councilman George Williams Jr. to stay away from Ward 1, which is represented by a councilman who argued with Williams at a recent Town Council meeting.
Williams filed an "unlawful communication" report with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office on April 8 about the call to his home the night before, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office incident report.
The caller, who referred to himself as Cheesy Weesy, asked Williams, "What are you doing saying things about Bill Ferguson?" according to the report.
Williams, who was accosted by Ferguson at an April 5 council meeting, reported the caller appeared intoxicated. He told the caller he had never said anything negative about Ferguson, according to the report.
