The Beaufort, Hampton and Jasper chapter of the national nonprofit foundation Smile for a Lifetime has awarded eight orthodontic scholarships since 2009 to young individuals who, because of financial reasons, have no opportunity to receive braces. Six scholarships will be given this year. Application deadlines are Feb. 15, June 15 and Oct. 15. Applications area available at all eight Beaufort-Jasper-Hampton Comprehensive Health sites and the Beaufort, Bluffton, Jasper and Hampton health departments.
