The 2011 Martin Luther King Celebration Weekend will be held Thursday through Monday on Hilton Head Island. Events are held each day of the weekend, beginning with a community worship service at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Queen Chapel AME Church on Beach City Road. "Once Upon a Time When We Were Colored" will be screened at 7 p.m. Friday at All Saints Episcopal Church, 3001 Meeting St., where a free breakfast will be served from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday as part of MLK Community Service Day. The memorial march will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Hilton Head Island High School parking lot, and the memorial program will be at 11 a.m. in the high school's Visual and Performing Arts Center. Canned goods will be collected at each event.
