Robbery, assault Friday at Bluffton apartments

A 38-year-old Bluffton man said he was grabbed by three or four men and robbed Friday at Bluffton House Apartments on Simmonsville Road, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office news release Monday.

The men dragged him behind a building, threw him to the ground and began punching and kicking him, the release said. During the attack, the men took his wallet containing cash, credit cards and ID cards, and they ran away.

The man complained of possible broken fingers and several lacerations but refused EMS treatment, the release said.

The robbers were described as black males, 18 to 27 years old, wearing baggy pants and dark-colored hooded sweatshirts.

The Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information to contact Cpl. J. Moran at 843-255-3422 or the Beaufort County Dispatch Center's non-emergency number at 843-524-2777.
