The Dolphin Project will hold a training workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Solms Hall at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah. The project is an all-volunteer, nonprofit research and education organization dedicated to the protection of wild estuarine bottlenose dolphins and their environment. The research area covers Hilton Head Island to the Georgia/Florida border. Skippers with boats, photographers and team leaders to record data are needed. Other land-based volunteer opportunities also are available. There is no charge for the training, and reservations are not necessary. Membership fees are required to participate in research surveys.
