"Keeping the May River Wild" with Greg Smith will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Beaufort County Library, 311 Scott St., Beaufort.
The free natural history program combines still photography of egrets, dolphins and more with a collection of sounds and 10 interviews with people who understand the river, its residents and the challenges they face from rapid area development.
The documentary won the "Southern Lens" award at the 2010 Beaufort Film Festival. It screened at the 2010 Macon and Gray's Reef Ocean film festivals.
