Rescue crews were unable Saturday to find an unidentified man who jumped off the Broad River Bridge on Friday morning.
Officials and volunteers from the S.C. Department of Natural and Beaufort Water Search and Rescue combed the Broad River for hours Saturday after motorists reported seeing a white man in his mid-20s jump from the bridge's southbound lane at about 11:15 a.m. Friday.
As of Saturday night, Beaufort County Coroner Ed Allen said he had not been notified that the man's body had been found.
Authorities say the man dropped about 60 feet to the river below.

The Burton Fire District, the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office, Beaufort Water Search and Rescue and helicopters from the S.C. Law Enforcement Division and U.S. Coast Guard all searched for the man Friday before the operation was turned over to DNR officials and Beaufort Water Search and Rescue.
The agencies are expected to continue searching through the weekend, according to authorities.
