Bluffton wharf work to temporarily close boat launch

Work has started on the rebuilding of the Wharf Street public boat launch at the Oyster Factory Park in Bluffton. Here, workers from JS Construction Services excavate the area of the old ramp on Tuesday. The work will force the closure of the boat ramp for about three weeks, with construction expected to be complete no later than September 28th. In addition to the ramp, a portion of Wharf Street closest to the river will be closed to boaters and traffic while the work progresses, but special provisions have been made to allow the Bluffton Oyster Co. to stay open during construction and alternate parking is available.
