Pianists vie in international competition on Hilton Head

The week-long 15th annual Hilton Head International Piano Competition began Monday at the First Presbyterian Church. The competition features 20 pianists from 11 countries performing in four rounds, all of them at the church. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra box office at 843-842-2055. The schedule is as follows: Round One part 2, 1:30 to 4:40 p.m. and 7 to 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, $10; Round Two, 1:30 to 5:10 p.m. and 7 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, and 1:30 to 5:10 p.m. and 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, $10 for each day; Round Three, 1:30 to 5:20 p.m. and 7:30 to 9:15 p.m. Saturday, $25; and the finals, 7 p.m. Monday, $35, $50 or $65.
