The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI are looking for a man they say robbed a bank near Sun City Hilton this morning.
Marked and unmarked police cars lined William Pope Drive as investigators searched for clues after an armed man wearing a black ski mask walked into CoastalStates Bank and demanded money.
Wearing a dark-colored fishing-style hat, a dark blue jacket with a Hargray patch on the left breast and left sleeve, the man walked into the bank at about 8:30 a.m. with an unknown weapon and demanded money, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.
The cashier complied with the man’s request, forking over an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber then left the bank, headed in an unknown direction, according to the Sheriff’s Office. No injuries were reported.
The bank was still closed as of noon, as yellow police tape cordoned off the building and its parking lot.
CoastalStates Bank sits beside two other banks on William Pope Drive; no other robberies were reported.
The FBI, which handles all bank robbery cases nationwide, will lead the investigation.
