Habitat for Humanity International recently was ranked as the sixth-largest homebuilder on Builder magazine's top 100 list. With 6,032 closings in 2010, this is the second time Habitat for Humanity has placed in the top 10.

Private pesticide applicator training will be from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 23 at the Clemson Extension Office, 102 Beaufort Industry Village Road. The training is for persons who wish to obtain a private applicator license needed to purchase restricteduse pesticides for land that they or their employers own, rent or lease. The cost is $50 and includes lunch. The session provides 5 credit hours toward re-certification.

The Low Country Property Management Association announces that their monthly meeting will be held noon Tuesday at the Country Club of Hilton Head in Hilton Head Plantation.

The speaker will be Dr. Eric Benson, Professor of Entomology at Clemson University. Dr. Benson is an expert on household and structural pests in South Carolina, and is a regular contributor on the public radio program "Your Day." His presentation will cover identification, treatment and prevention of bedbugs. Members and associate members and their guests are invited.
