A knitting store that’s been in Beaufort County for 26 years has moved — but it didn’t go far.
Needlepoint Junction — in the Village at Wexford, at 1000 William Hilton Parkway, Suite J-7E — has moved next door from its former store, according to owner Michele Kay-Greene.
“We went from 600 square feet to 1,500 square feet,” Kay-Greene said. “It was a huge jump.”
She said the store also has better visibility in the plaza and more room for new and expanded inventory. The store sells knitting, crochet and needlepoint supplies, including yarn, thread, canvases, books and accessories.
In the new space, Kay-Greene plans to add more classes and has created a designated space within the shop for a classroom.
“We’re really trying to outreach to different areas” and ages, she said. Needlepoint Junction will offer more youth-oriented classes, including a camp program this summer.
The store will host its grand reopening from noon to 5 p.m. on Feb. 14 with food, wine, door prizes and special deals in the store.
Needlepoint Junction is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
