A Florida man claiming to be the descendant of a U.S. president was banned from a Bluffton hotel last week after he threatened to hit the manager, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.
Over the course of several months, the 40-year-old West Palm Beach man repeatedly tried to eat breakfast at the Holiday Inn on Bluffton Road despite not having a room there, the report said.
When employees asked him to leave, he would curse and yell at them, according to the report. The manager tried to intervene May 15, and the man claimed he was the great-grandson of Theodore Roosevelt and owned the hotel and the United States.
He threatened the manager and said he would have her fired, the report said.

The man, who shares the Roosevelt name, said he was staying in Bluffton until relatives take him back to West Palm Beach. He was issued a notice of trespassing, the report said.
