The Beaufort County Black Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the S.C. Housing and Development Authority to help homeowners facing foreclosure because of unemployment, under-employment, income reduction and other factors.
The chamber was chosen to work with federal funds given to the S.C. State Housing Finance and Development Authority, according to a news release.
Three of the chamber's housing counselors -- Eugene Bedell, Larry Holman and Shirley Wilkins -- have been certified to work in the assistance program.
