Living the “Salt Life” is now even easier for residents and visitors to Bluffton.

A Salt Life retail store opened April 21 at Tanger Outlets 1, between Vineyard Vines and White House Black Market.

The 2,500-square-foot store sells apparel for men, women and children plus accessories and gear such as coolers, tumblers and sunglasses.

The company’s merchandise is sold in stores and online nationwide, but there are only 10 Salt Life stores in California, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina, according to its website.

Hours at the Bluffton store are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday for now.

District manager John Parker said the hours will be extended to match those of other Tanger Outlets stores, which are open until 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, once the store is fully staffed.

“We’re very excited to open here in Bluffton/Hilton Head and can’t wait to meet all the locals and visitors who come to see us,” Parker said.

The Salt Life brand originated in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, as a decal; more than 2 million of those have been sold, according to the retailer’s website.
