Philly Pretzel Factory is expanding to South Carolina and the company has set its sights on Beaufort County.
Locations have been selected for possibilities — the only thing needed is a franchise owner, Tom Monaghan, company chief development officer, said Wednesday.
“We are proactively looking for someone to be the pretzel mayor of the Hilton Head area,” Monaghan said.
Total start-up costs for the company are $290,000. The company is looking for a community member with manager and sales experience.
The company operates more than 170 franchise locations in 19 states. It opened two in Myrtle Beach last year and is in the process of opening two in Charleston this year.
Food options at the restaurant include pretzels, Philly cheese steak pretzels and mini pretzel dogs.
The restaurants also focuses a portion of their business on bulk sales. Currently the company has a 15 pretzels for $5 deal available.
“It is meant for you to get these pretzels and share them,” Monaghan said. “You take them to the soccer tournament or sales people buy a gift pack and drop them off with customers.”
The process of opening a store moves quickly, Monaghan said. He said the company plans to have one opened in the Hilton Head area by the end of the year.
