Three boaters were rescued today after their boat capsized near Hunting Island.
According to Fripp Island Sea Rescue, the crew of a Coast Guard helicopter returning to Charleston after assisting a shrimp boat that ran aground inCalibogue Sound near Hilton Head Island spotted an overturned boat near the Harbor Island Bridge.
The 15-foot boat was found by rescuers about 400 yards from the Harbor Island Bridge, and two of its passengers were later rescued near the bridge, said Paul Field, skipper of Fripp Island Sea Rescue.
Another of the boat's passengers swam to shore to notify authorities and was later accounted for, Field said.

Field said authorities have yet to determine where the boat capsized but said windy conditions and choppy seas were likely to blame.
"They had no business being out there, absolutely none at all, not in a boat that size," Field said. "I don't know what they were trying to catch, but itcertainly wouldn't have been worth their lives."
