Beaufort pizzeria robbed at gunpoint

Beaufort Police are looking for a man they say robbed a Beaufort pizza restaurant at gunpoint late Friday night.

An employee of Papa John’s Pizza on Robert Smalls Parkway said that at about 11:30 p.m., a man armed with a handgun entered the store and demanded money, according to a news release issued today by the Beaufort Police Department.

The employee handed over an undisclosed amount of cash. The robber then ran away, according to police. No injuries were reported.

The employee was unable to give a detailed description of the robber, telling investigators the man wore a green T-shirt over his head with eye holes cut out of it. The robber was described a white male with light-colored hair and of medium height and build.
