Need a new wardrobe? Winter coats for the kids? Save your hard-earned money. Free, gently used clothing will be available for the taking next weekend.
LowCountry Community Church will host its fourth annual Clothing Connection from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 23 at its two campuses -- at 801 Buckwalter Parkway in Bluffton and at the Hilton Head Island campus located in Suite 1 at 21 Office Park Road.
The Clothing Connection will feature men's, women's and children's clothing, as well as baby furniture, linens and accessories. Missions Pastor Joe Friesen said about 3,000 people came to last year's event, and each took home bags of clothing for every family member.
"It really has a huge impact," Friesen said. "The motivation of this is that Jesus says when we do things for other people it's the same as doing it for him. And because of his great gift to us, we want to give back to other people any way we can."
