New resolutions can benefit Rotary causes

Thanks to Wayne Blau of the Sea Island Rotary Club of Beaufort for sharing a funny poem that might help you live longer -- and help the club with its second largest fundraiser of the year.

In this season of New Year's resolutions, Wayne wants you to resolve to start training for the Sea Island Rotary Club's seventh annual Adventure Biathlon set for March 12 at Hunting Island State Park.

"If you are a weekend warrior or an advanced biathlete, the Sea Island Rotary Adventure Biathlon Kayak & Trail Run promises to be a fun-filled day," Wayne said.

"This race offers a chance for families, friends and business partners to compete together, or you can take on the challenge yourself."

For more information, go to and look for "Hunting Island Adventure Biathlon" under the "Other Events" logo. Or visit race headquarters at Higher Ground Outfitters in Beaufort Town Center, 2121 Boundary St., Suite 101.
