The Hilton Head Island Seafood Festival will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. April 5 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 6 at Shelter Cove Community Park.
The sixth annual event will feature restaurants serving seafood samples, live music, a Kids' Zone, an "Iron Chef"-style competition, crab races, a silent auction and a bocce ball tournament.
The event is the annual fundraiser for the David M. Carmines Memorial Foundation. Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society, the M.D. Anderson Cancer Research Center and the Island Recreation Scholarship Fund.
Participating vendors include: Alexander's, American Culinary Federation, Black Marlin, Bluffton Oyster Co., The Chart House, Cool Breeze, The Crazy Crab, Gillan's Fresh Seafood & Oyster Bar, Hana Sushi, Hudson's Seafood House on the Docks, Island Kettle Corn, Kurama Japanese Restaurant, The Old Oyster Factory, Pino Gelato, Red Fish, Skull Creek Boathouse and Street Meet.

Admission is $5; the festival is free for kids younger than 12. Attendees can purchase food and drink tickets at the entrance and redeem them at the various booths.
Attendees can park at the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina, The Mall at Shelter Cove, along Shelter Cove Lane or at the old Bank of America building. Handicapped parking is available inside Shelter Cove Community Park. Golf carts will shuttle people from the lots to the park April 5; buses and golf carts will shuttle people April 6.
