Name: Susan Brown

Husband: Tim

Town: Beaufort

Children: Chas, 10; Anna, 10; Margaret, 6; Katherine, 6; Sophia, 6

Occupation: Kindergarten teacher at Riverview Charter School

Favorite mommy moment: Snuggle time

Most challenging moment: Saying no and sticking to it; being consistent

Funniest thing your kids ever said: Too many to say

What you learned from your mom that you now use: How to be a lifelong learner

How do you keep your marriage a priority? At least one kiss and hug a day

I can't leave the house without: My husband's phone number, so he can bring me whatever I forgot

What's the bedtime routine at your house? Bath, PJs and reading

How do you keep up with all the kids' activities, appointments, homework, etc.? With a lot of help from my husband, my parents and my husband's parents

What would you do if you were completely alone for an entire day? Paint

Advice for other moms: Treasure the moments you have now, even the hardest. The most challenging moments for you and how you deal with them as a parent are what your kids need to see. Your babies need you to hold their hands and guide them and also to see that it's normal to lose your patience from time to time. Show them how to apologize, and recover from your mistakes.
