WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
Magic Math Academy encourages kids to learn and practice math skills through play. It's free, but in-app purchases are necessary to unlock all the options. Audio and visual directions and prompts support kids as they engage with the app. Kids can learn and practice math skills under two different modes. Math's Journey requires little ones to use math skills to help a young wizard navigate 10 different environments, such as Candy Land and Dream Valley, filled with challenges and obstacles in order to save his friends from little bad guys. Kids have the option of focusing on numbers or operations when playing Math's Journey. The learning and practice are embedded in the game. When playing under Wizard's Workshop, they can choose to focus on numbers and counting, operations, geometry and space, or mathematical thinking. This mode presents mathematical concepts before giving kids the opportunity to practice their understanding through games. A wizard explains concepts verbally and through visual representations. Parents can access a learning progress report that allows them to monitor how their kids are doing.
