Many dogs and their humans have special ways of connecting, and it doesn't always involve a trip for a pup cup or an outing to the dog park. Sometimes the most meaningful moments are the simplest ones.

For Carol, the Goldador, that connection comes through music. During a recent guitar session, the lovable Labrador mix settled in beside her mom as she began strumming her acoustic guitar.

As the music started, Carol gently rested her head on her mom's shoulder, happy to sit and listen. As the clip continued, the dog moved even closer, eventually stretching out across her human's chest while Mom kept playing. The sweet pair looked completely relaxed, as if the rest of the world had faded away for a few minutes.

While Mom softly strummed the guitar, Carol looked completely content. Her eyes grew heavy, her body relaxed, and she seemed perfectly happy to spend the entire session soaking up the music-and the cuddles.

There were no chaotic zoomies or other dog antics. Just a sweet Goldador enjoying a quiet moment with her favorite person.

Why Do Some Dogs Find Music Relaxing?

Music is relaxing for many people, and plenty of dogs seem to enjoy it as well. Whether it's the music itself that they find soothing or simply the chance to slow down and spend quality time with their favorite humans, it's hard to say.

According to the American Kennel Club, researchers have found that many dogs respond positively to classical music and songs with slower tempos and gentle transitions between notes. Studies have also suggested that heavy metal and other fast-paced music can increase stress and anxiety in some dogs.

Based on Carol's reaction, I'd say she's firmly in the "slow and soothing" camp. Whether she was enjoying the music, the cuddles, or a little bit of both, she looked completely content, soaking up the moment with her mom.
