A fitness club at Hilton Head Island School for the Creative Arts has earned a state health award. "The Strength Summed Up Team" meets each day to develop strength and flexibility. It has been named for the second time to the All-Health Team, sponsored by the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control and Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina. The team recognizes youth clubs each month that promote health in their communities. Students have learned fitness routines and performed demonstrations. They also meet with a local chef to learn more about nutrition. They have also participated in beach cleanups. The award comes with a $500 prize, which will be used to purchase more fitness equipment, according to a school district news release.
