Two Beaufort County Early Childhood Centers -- M.C. Riley and Bluffton -- have been awarded seals of approval from the U.S. Green Building Council.
Buildings can be certified for green design through the council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design rating system, also known as LEED, according to a news release.
The M.C. Riley center earned the LEED silver stamp, and the Bluffton center was given LEED certification for, among other things, protecting habitat and maximizing open space.
