Hilton Head Island Town Council member-elect Kim Likins raised $1,736 and spent $1,701 in campaign contributions leading up to last week's general election, according to records she sent Wednesday to the S.C. State Ethics Commission.
Likins missed an Oct. 18 deadline for filing a campaign disclosure report, required 15 days before the election.
Likins said it was a simple oversight by her campaign treasurer, who thought it was due 15 days after the election.
"Sometimes things fall through the cracks. It's not that we were trying to hide anything or withhold disclosure," she said. "We did what we needed to do to rectify the situation."
