Hilton Head League of Women Voters to discuss water quality

    ORDER REPRINT →

October 28, 2010 06:33 PM

The League of Women Voters of Hilton Head Island will talk about ways to safeguard the community's drinking water at its regular membership meeting at 10 a.m. Nov. 10 at the Hilton Head No. 1 Public Service District meeting room on Oak Park Drive. Richard Cyr, Hilton Head PSD general manager, and Pete Nardi, Hilton Head PSD community relations manager, will explain about how drinking water is safeguarded. They will also talk about how users of Savannah River water affect the local area water supply. In April 2009, delegates to the LWVSC Convention adopted a two-year study of water issues in South Carolina. Safeguarding water quality is one of the issues being studied. The final report is due out in early 2011.

7 miles. 30 minutes. Fix Hilton Head traffic lights — now — to help commuters

As a worker who must commute daily to Hilton Head Island from Bluffton, I would like to ask the Town of Hilton Head Island to please have the timing of the traffic lights re-timed by SCDOT, or whoever works on the timing of lights.
