Public Safety Committee to advise Bluffton chief of police

The town of Bluffton Public Safety Committee has reconvened and will bring community concerns to the Bluffton Police Department during twice-monthly meetings, the town announced in a news release Friday.

The committee includes representatives from the old town district, Buck Island and Simmonsville roads, Goethe and Shults roads, and the Buckwalter and New Riverside communities.

The committee also will organize public-safety events such as National Night Out and Walk to School Day. It will meet on the first and third Wednesday of every month, with its next meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Bluffton Police Department, 39 Persimmon St.
