Three students involved in a scuffle outside of Hilton Head Island High School as school was letting out Wednesday face charges, according to a Beaufort County Sheriff's Office report.
One of the students bumped into the other at the bus ramp behind the cafeteria, and the conflict soon came to blows, according to the report. Two deputies were needed to break up the fight and were hit in the process, the report said.
Two students were charged with third-degree assault and battery and with disturbing schools.
A third student, who was not throwing punches but was cursing the officers and attempting to reinstigate the fight, was charged with disturbing schools after refusing to leave the scene, the report said.
