Happy Halloween! Trick-or-treating started this weekend, but there’s more planned

Today is Halloween. Below is a sample of some of the planned activities.

▪  Hardeeville holds its annual Trunk or Treat event from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the parking lots off Martin Street near the police and fire departments.

▪  Marine Corps Air Station Laurel Bay’s base housing areas will celebrate the holiday from 6 to 8 p.m.

▪  Trick or Treat at the Bluffton Branch of the Beaufort County Library is set from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

▪  Trick or Treat at the Hilton Head Branch of the Beaufort County Library is set from 3 to 6 p.m.

▪  Trunk-O-Ween at Shelter Cove Towne Centre is set for 5-7 p.m. Towne Centre Drive will be blocked off and lined with classic cars from the Carolina Dreamers Car Club. Costumed cuties can trick-or-treat from trunk-to-trunk and store-to-store! Also includes bounce houses and glitter tattoos.

▪  At least one neighborhood traditionally popular with trick-or-treaters is closed this year because of Hurricane Matthew damage. Ashton Cove on Hilton Head Island remains unsafe because of debris, HOA president Joy Vinson said.
