Explore changing rice landscape

The York W. Bailey Museum at Penn Center will host a debut exhibition by Charleston photographer David Soliday titled "Remnants of Rice Fields in South Carolina," featuring images of rice fields from Georgetown to Beaufort. The opening will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday and includes an artist's talk and a Gullah rice sampling. Admission is $6 for adults; reservations are required. "Remnants of Rice Fields" is a collection of photographs documenting today's status of the physical landscapes of the once magnificently sculptured Carolina Gold rice fields along the tidal swampland extending from Florida to North Carolina. The exhibit and art sale will run through March 31. The museum is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
