Candice Glover announced via Twitter on Monday that her debut album, "Music Speaks," will be released Oct. 8.
It was also announced that she will sing the national anthem before Major League Baseball's All-Star game July 16.
The album has been available for pre-order on iTunes since the St. Helena Island native won "American Idol" in May. The release date originally was expected to be July 16.
Since winning "Idol," Glover has been busy in Los Angeles recording her album and rehearsing for the Idol Live! 2013. The 30-stop tour with the other Idol finalists begins July 19, stopping in North Charleston on Aug. 5.

"My album is almost done," Glover tweeted Monday. "I'm making the music I've always wanted to make but I just want to take a little more time to perfect it for you."
Glover's performance July 16 before the all-star game will be part of a special on-field ceremony to honor the winners of the national "Tribute to Heroes" campaign, which recognizes heroic military veterans and service members, according to MLB.com.
The game will be televised nationally by FOX Sports, with pregame ceremonies beginning at 7:30 p.m., according to MLB.com.
