Pop Star Earns 10th No. 1, Tying Taylor Swift With Major Chart Milestone

Ariana Grande has hit another major milestone in her chart-topping career after earning her 10th No. 1 single.

The singer and actress debuted at No. 1 on the coveted Billboard Hot 100 chart with her latest single "Hate That I Made You Love Me," which will feature on her upcoming eighth studio album, Petal, which will be released on July 31 via Republic Records. The 12-track album is the much-anticipated follow-up to Grande's 2024 hit, Eternal Sunshine.

"Hate That I Made You Love Me" was produced by Grande alongside Ilya and Max Martin, with the latter extending his record for the most No. 1s among producers. Grande's latest single is his 28th.

According to Billboard, from its May 29 release through June 4, "Hate That I Made You Love Me" totaled 23.6 million official streams, 18.9 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 70,000 singles sold in the U.S. The song was available for digital purchase via seven options, including its original version, an "Ari lyric draft from bed" version, a "live from rehearsal" version, and more. An official music video dropped on June 1, starring Grande and He's Just Not That Into You actor Justin Long.

This achievement places Grande at a tie with Taylor Swift as the woman with the most debuts at No. 1 on the singles chart. Among Grande's other debut No. 1s are "Positions," "Yes, And?," "Thank U, Next," and "We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)".

The Wicked: For Goodstar kicked off her Eternal Sunshine tour this week, opening in Oakland with a groundbreaking 23-song set that spanned the musician's full career. The opening night on June 6 saw many live debuts and songs performed live for the first time in over five years. Throughout the summer, Grande will be stopping in cities across North America, including Los Angeles, Brooklyn, and Austin, along with a 10-date residency at London's O2 Arena.
