USCB women wrap up fall golf season with 12th place finish

The USC Beaufort women's golf team dropped one spot to finish 12th among 15 teams at the Wendy's Invitational on Tuesday at Coosaw Creek Country Club in North Charleston.

The Sand Sharks turned in a two-day score of 675, finishing 89 strokes behind winner Coastal Carolina.

Individually, Adriana Saavedra had the best tournament for the Sand Sharks, finishing tied for 31st in the field of 81 golfers with a 79-83--162.

Kelli Nakano and Sophie Henke tied for 58th place with a score of 172. Jenny Payne finished at 173 and Brittany Cheek turned in a 176.

Coastal Carolina's Aruka Felgueroso was the low medalist with a 140.

The tournament concluded the Sand Sharks' fall season. They will return to action in the spring.
