The only public tennis courts on the south end of Hilton Head Island might soon belong to a private homeowners association. The town wants to sell the Cordillo Parkway courts because they are underused and in need of repair, according to town documents. If completed, the sale would leave the town with no public tennis courts near Coligny, its busiest tourism district. The town does have six public tennis courts at Chaplin Community Park. Beaufort County manages several courts on the north end of the island. Hilton Head Island High School also has courts open to the public.
