Christmas has come and gone and 2014 is right around the corner. I don't know how the last year has treated you but for this boy, it was better than most. Maybe age had something to do with it because I simply feel more relaxed and at ease.
I still struggle daily with back issues and spend more time in doctors' offices than I would like, but on the bright side, my daughter Camden has made me a grandfather (though I will never give in to that title) and my son Logan has devoted his life to the nonprofit sector, which makes me feel prouder than a strutting peacock.
So what better way to welcome 2014 than to look back at 2013?
Thank you all for your flattering e-mails and phone calls. I hope your new year is full of scales and tales.
