    Although it's highly unlikely to result in a playoff spot, the Toronto Maple Leafs have put together one of their best stretches of the season over the past week. They'll try to sustain that newfound momentum into a three-game homestand that begins with tonight's battle against the New Jersey Devils from the Air Canada Centre.
  • Koivu's goal gives Ducks win over Blackhawks
    Saku Koivu scored the go-ahead goal with 5:36 left in the third period, Todd Marchant had a short-handed goal and Bobby Ryan notched his 30th and 31st goals, leading the Anaheim Ducks to a 4-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night.

    Final Score: Calgary 3, Colorado 2 Rene Bourque tallied twice and Vesa Toskala made 32 saves as Calgary clipped Colorado, 3-2, at Pepsi Center. Eric Nystrom picked up the other score for the Flames, who snapped a two-game slide and won for the fifth time in seven tilts to move within one point of idle Detroit for eighth place in the Western Conference. Chris Durno and Milan Hejduk scored for the Avalanche, who had won three in a row. Craig Anderson took the loss despite 31 stops.

    Chicago has had a hard enough time picking up victories in Anaheim without having injuries to worry about. Nonetheless, the Blackhawks could be without as many as four key skaters tonight when they visit the Honda Center to take on the Ducks, who could also have an injury-affected lineup.
