  Quality Road, winner of this year's Florida Derby, will be back in the classroom Saturday at Aqueduct Racetrack. The three-year-old colt has another session of school scheduled with the starting gate.

  Mafaaz, winner of the Kentucky Derby Challenge Stakes this year in England, is battling back from medical problems that have kept him from racing. The three-year-old is part of trainer Kiaran McLaughlin's stable.

  The people directing the career of Breeders' Cup Classic winner Zenyatta have been named the recipients of the 2009 Big Sport of Turfdom Award. The Turf Publicists of America (TPA) are recognizing the efforts of owners Jerry and Ann Moss, trainer John Shirreffs and his wife Dottie and jockey Mike Smith.
