Thomas Heyward defeated Marlboro Academy 7-3 on Saturday in Lexington to advance to the SCISAA Class 2-A softball state championship series.
The Rebels (27-3) will host Williamsburg Academy at 6:30 p.m. and then play at Williamsburg at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Should a third game e necessary, the game will be played at a neutral site, most likely Holly Hill Academy.
Selice Daley struck out 15 in a complete-game, three-hitter. She surrendered two runs in the first inning on a two-run home run before settling down.
Offensively, Sydney Glassberg was 3 for 4 with a double and three runs, while Liz Bunton two sacrifice bunts.
At the plate, Daley was 2 for 3.
"They're solid hitters," Rebels head coach Bob Layman said of Williamsburg Academy. "They have two pitchers and they mix it up on you pretty well. They're a good little team. It should be a good series."
