Hilton Head Island High School will induct five new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame at halftime of its football game against Whale Branch on Friday night. They will also host a reception in the media center at 6 p.m. Among the inductees are:
Former volleyball coach Chris Grey, who helped produce 33 All-Region Players, 11 all-state players and an all-American. Grey also lead his teams to region and Lower State championships in 1996 and 2008.
Former baseball third baseman Brian Harrison ('08), a former minor leaguer in the Mets' system. Harrison earned all-State honors in 2007 and was the IP/BG player of the year.
Former football and wrestling standout Joe Beck ('86), who had an undefeated record of 30-0 record 25 pins, and was state champion at 185 pounds for 3-A/2-A/1-A in his junior and senior years.
Former volleyball star Carly Ledbetter ('09), who set a single-season kill record with 512 in 2009. She also received all-state honors and 3A Player of the Year honors.
Charles Kidd ('78), a three-sport star at Hilton Head High. Kidd excelled in basketball, football and track, earning team MVP honors in all three.
